Amanda Brugel
(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a sleepy community on that part of the island of Montreal that is known as"the West Island. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of different communities. Many who've never been aware of it frequently think it is an island that is west-facing. Amanda Brugel's birthplace is frequently referenced, however her brief visit to the West Island wasn't. Brugel grew on Courtice located just outside Oshawa in Ontario. At the beginning of her life she wanted to be a performer but an unexpected expansion of her body made it impossible. She admitted in an article written by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. When I grew out of my male dancers, I decided to quit. Many former dancers turn to acting, and in the instance of Brugel,, it was the result of a recommendation from her high school teacher in drama. A teacher suggested that she try out for a school play. The audition was successful and she was chosen as Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she was a theatre student and earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2000. The career of Brugel spans more than 20 years and she has been in over 60 productions that have screened on large screens and smaller ones. The most well-known role she played was as Rita (pictured beneath) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the only Canadian part of the cast in Season 1 of the series, and not seen much.
